My Story

I started my health career in 2003 by obtaining a Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing) from Auckland University of Technology and became a registered nurse - first working in the hospital on the wards and then moved out into community nursing. Although I loved working with and caring for my patients, I was becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of results and answers for people’s health needs.

I was introduced to the Neurological Integration System (NIS) by a friend and colleague in the health field. As NIS is based in Neuroscience this perspective on health made sense to me and I was excited to learn more. I completed my studies in the Neurological Integration System and have been an NIS Practitioner since 2005. I am deeply passionate about my patients’ health and am committed to helping them achieve the goals they desire for their health needs.

Although in my practice I see everyone from birth to older adults, I have a real passion in infant and child development and love to see children reach their full potential. In 2013 I completed a post graduate certificate in Neuro-Developmental Delay (NDD) with The Institute of Neuro-Physiological Psychology. I am so excited to be able to use the INPP programme, as well as the NIS for children and adolescents who are experiencing any sort of learning difficulty, and seeing them flourish to their full potential. I work closely in conjunction with a sound therapist, Glynis Brummer of Smart Learning Solutions, for children and teenagers who have difficulty with auditory processing.

My formal studies and theoretical knowledge have taken me far in my career, but it is my lived life experience that has brought a deeper understanding and compassion to my practice. From becoming a mother and all that entails, dealing with postpartum depression, my journey to help my own children with food allergies, eczema, anxiety, migraines and digestive problems to the death of my 5 year old son, and working through grief and the toll that has on your health. It is my lived experience that has granted me a deeper understanding of balancing our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being in order to live a truly healthy life.

I love and am passionate about what I do and being able to offer people a different approach to their health needs that works and gives great results.
