FAQs

If you’re new to BodyLink, it’s normal to have questions. This page covers the most common ones we’re asked about booking, what to expect, and how our non-invasive support works.

If you don’t see your question here, feel free to get in touch.

Getting started and booking

What’s the best place to start?

For most people, the best first step is an initial appointment (assessment). After that, we’ll refer to this as your initial appointment and focus on the plan forward. If you’re unsure what service fits, start here.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required. You can book directly.

What if I’m not sure which service I need?

That’s exactly what the initial appointment is for. We’ll recommend the most appropriate pathway based on your needs and goals.

Can I call before booking?

Yes. If you’d prefer to talk first, call us and we’ll help you choose the right booking type.

If you’re unsure what’s relevant, don’t worry. We’ll guide the process.

What happens at the first appointment?

Your first visit is designed to bring clarity. We’ll listen, explore what’s been going on, assess relevant patterns, and explain next steps in everyday language.

Is it invasive or painful?

No. BodyLink support is designed to be gentle and non-invasive.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies. After your initial appointment, we’ll recommend a plan that’s realistic for you (or your child) and suited to the goals you’re working toward.

Do you offer home programs?

  • Sometimes, yes. When home support is recommended, we keep it practical and realistic for family life.

What to expect

Services and suitability

Do you diagnose medical conditions, autism, ADHD or dyslexia?

No. We do not diagnose. We provide non-invasive wellbeing support that can sit alongside your registered healthcare provider, specialists, and school supports.

Is BodyLink only for children?

No. We support children, teens and adults. Our website includes dedicated pathways for both child-focused support and whole-family wellbeing.

Can you work alongside other therapists or healthcare providers?

Often, yes. Many people use BodyLink support alongside other services. We can discuss the best way to complement what you’re already doing.

Kids and learning support

What types of learning challenges do you see?

We often support families who are dealing with challenges like attention, coordination, learning stamina, emotional regulation, and school-related overwhelm. The initial appointment helps clarify what’s most relevant for your child.

Is this tutoring?

No. BodyLink is not a tutoring service. We support underlying foundations that can influence learning, regulation and day-to-day functioning.

Do you work with teenagers?

Yes. Support is tailored based on age, needs, and goals.

NIS (Whole-Family Health & Recovery)

What is NIS?

NIS stands for Neurological Integration System. It’s a gentle, non-invasive approach used to support nervous system function and whole-person wellbeing.

Who is NIS suitable for?

NIS can be used across ages. We tailor support to the person in front of us and what they’re working toward.

Do you use NIS for children as well?

Yes, when appropriate. We’ll recommend the best pathway after the initial appointment.

Reflex Integration
(Learning & Development Program)

What is Reflex Integration?

Reflex integration support looks at developmental reflex patterns that can influence movement, coordination, attention and regulation. When certain foundations need extra support, learning and daily life can feel much harder than they should.

Will my child need to do exercises at home?

We strongly encourage home exercises as this helps consolidate the progress we make during our therapy sessions.

PBM and Neurosage

What is PBM

PBM (Photobiomodulation) is a light therapy support tool that may be used within a personalised plan when it’s appropriate.

What is Neurosage?

Neurosage is a gentle, technology-based supporting tool that may be used within a personalised plan, particularly when regulation and nervous system load are key priorities.

Can I book PBM or Neurosage directly?

In most cases, these are used as supporting tools within a broader plan. If you’re unsure, book an initial appointment and we’ll guide you.
