Brain-Based Regulation Support (Neurosage)
Some people find BodyLink because they’ve heard the word Neurosage and want to understand what it actually is. Others come to us for a broader plan, and Neurosage is one of the supportive tools we may recommend along the way.
Based in Silverdale, Auckland. Calm, non-invasive support.
At BodyLink, Neurosage is not positioned as a “one-size-fits-all” solution. It’s a supporting tool that may be used within your personalised plan when it fits your needs and goals.
Not sure where to start? We're happy to talk it through.
What is Neurosage?
In everyday language, Neurosage is a gentle, technology-based modality designed to support the brain and nervous system.
Neurosage is a non-invasive, screen-based therapy developed by SNA Biotech that uses a combination of light, sound, and guided movement to stimulate the brain and nervous system in a targeted way.
It's grounded in a neuroscience framework called Systemic Neural Adaptation, a process of creating intentional, progressive change in the brain through organised sensory stimulation. Think of it like progressive training, but for the brain.
Sessions involve engaging with visual and auditory activities on screen, while small light and vibration devices provide additional sensory input. The system adapts over time to each person's individual neurological responses.
The mechanism is what sets it apart, it encourages the brain to naturally produce more dopamine and serotonin, supporting attention, calm, and regulation without medication. Backed by over 15 years of clinical research.

Why BodyLink uses Neurosage
At our Silverdale clinic, we focus on how the nervous system is organising itself and what's getting in the way of someone functioning at their best.
For children, retained primitive reflexes are often central. When these don't fully integrate in early development, the nervous system is left working harder than it should - creating interference that affects attention, coordination, emotional regulation, and learning. Neurosage provides the organised, progressive sensory stimulation the nervous system needs to begin maturing and adapting.
For adults, the picture is often different but the principle is the same. A nervous system under persistent stress or high load has less capacity for everything else - focus, sleep, emotional resilience, and physical recovery. Neurosage supports the brain's natural production of dopamine and serotonin, helping to reduce that load and restore function over time.
At BodyLink, our approach to Neurosage is informed by the work of Dr Josh Madsen, whose practitioner training both Michelle and Janelle have completed. If you've found us through his content and are searching for a Neurosage practitioner in New Zealand, you're in the right place.

What it may support
Everyone’s needs are different, and we avoid blanket promises. Neurosage may be considered within a plan when someone is looking for support with things like:
Children and developmental support
- retained primitive reflexes
- ADHD profiles and attention challenges
- sensory processing difficulties
- emotional dysregulation
- learning challenges where nervous system organisation is a key factor
For adults, it may be relevant when stress load, focus, sleep, and recovery are the priority.
If your situation is more complex or you're unsure whether we're the right fit, the best first step is an initial appointment and we'll guide you appropriately.
What a session is like
Neurosage sessions are designed to be calm, comfortable, and non-invasive.
A typical session includes:
- a brief check-in on how you’re doing and what’s changed
- setting things up in a way that’s appropriate and comfortable
- a quiet, supported environment
- adjustments over time based on how you respond and what your plan requires
If Neurosage is included in your plan, we’ll explain:
- why it’s included
- how it fits with your broader goals
- what we’re looking for over time

What happens at the Neurosage assessment
If you’re unsure whether Neurosage is relevant for you, start with an initial appointment, we'll take through what is going on and whether Neurosage makes sense as a part of your plan.
Once Neurosage has been recommended, we'll carry out an assessment. This helps us understand your neurological baseline and set up the programme appropriately for your individual responses.
We’ll:
- review what's been going on and what your plan is working toward
- walk you through what a session feels like before we begin
- answer any questions in plain language
You'll leave knowing:
- what we think is most likely contributing
- what we recommend as the next step
- what support could look like over the coming weeks
